Private Label Gym Wear: What to Confirm Before Production

Use this checklist to prepare private label gym wear with the right fabrics, labels, packaging, samples and production approvals.

Private label gym wear allows a brand to build a recognizable collection without managing every manufacturing step internally. The strongest projects begin with a clear brand brief and a checklist that covers both the garment and the customer experience.
First confirm the product architecture. Decide whether the launch needs leggings, shorts, sports bras, tops, jackets or matching sets. Define the use case for each style, such as strength training, studio workouts, running or everyday athleisure.
Then confirm branding details. Discuss neck labels, care labels, size labels, hangtags, packaging, logo technique and artwork placement. Send vector artwork where possible and specify the required dimensions, colors and position on the garment.
Fabric choices should reflect the product use. Consider stretch and recovery, opacity, moisture management, abrasion, softness and color performance. A fabric that feels comfortable in a sample may still need testing or wash evaluation before bulk production.
The sample approval process should include fit comments and measurement checks. Review the garment on the intended body shape, compare it with the size chart and document every change. Do not rely on a verbal approval when the product has several fit-sensitive details.
Packaging and order preparation also affect the final impression. Confirm folding, polybag requirements, carton marks, barcode information and shipping documents before production starts.
A useful inquiry includes the product list, estimated quantity, target market, artwork, size range, preferred fabrics and delivery goal. Honch Apparel can help private label gym wear brands organize these details for sampling and OEM/ODM production.
